corridor is INDEX's first VR project. Created in collaboration with i-DAT a digital research lab and KARST an artist led gallery both based in Plymouth. corridor is an immersive virtual environment that takes you on a journey of the strangely familiar from Stroud to Plymouth via a corridor. It is a working prototype that is the culmination of a 12 month research & development project to develop a collaborative space for artists in virtual reality funded by Arts Council England.
First shown as part of the SITE Festival 2017, corridor is an immersive virtual environment linking Stroud and Plymouth, funded by the Arts Council and created by INDEXprojects in collaboration with KARST, a contemporary artspace in Plymouth and i-DAT, a digital research lab based at Plymouth University. Next phase of corridor: to invite artists to find new and radical ways of inhabiting, extending and transforming the virtual space of corridor.
